A Golfing Tradition

The Hearts vs Minds Charity Tournament is a Calgary golfing tradition that brings together two competitive clinical departments and their supporters for a fantastic day at the Blue Devil Golf Club.

We started small and, over the years, expanded the number of golfers, sponsors and prizes who participated.

We celebrated our 11th Anniversary this year and the Departments of Clinical Neurosciences and Cardiac Sciences are grateful for all who help us raise funds for causes that are near and dear to us all.

In 2024, we sold out the Blue Devil course within hours of our registration launch and we added a second course for the first time in the tournament’s history.

The Lil Devil Course — a shorter, nine-hole experience — was a huge hit with those who wanted to participate but didn’t have the time or energy for the bigger course.

Regardless of which course you play, the aim of the tournament is to have fun and celebrate those who support cardiac and neuro patients in Calgary.

We have drink samples and snacks on many of the holes, and competitions throughout the course. There’s something for everyone!

You’ll see in our Course Photos that many teams dress up and decorate their cart for the day – and the best are rewarded with Team Spirit Prizes.

With the help of the Calgary Health Foundation, 100% of the proceeds are split between the two departments. We have funded many educational projectds and clinical equipment in Cardiac Sciences and Clinical Neurosciences.

In 2024, we blew past our target and raised over $42,000 — all thanks to the generosity of our players, sponsors and prize donors. Over the past 11 years, we are proud to have raised over $125,000.
